Types of Legal Entities Allowed in JAFZA
An individual or a corporate entity can set up a company in Jebel Ali Free Zone in any of the following ways:
1. Free Zone Establishment (FZE) [entity with one shareholder]
2. Free Zone Company (FZC/FZCO) [entity with 2 -5 shareholders]
3. Branch of a Foreign Company
4. Branch of a Local Company

1. Trading License
2. Service License
3. Industrial License
4. National Industrial License
Procedure to Set Up a Business in JAFZA
1. Fill in the application form
2. After the application is approved, the authorities will issue an initial approval for the business
3. Choose a ready-fitted office space from the JAFZA selection
4. After the office is finalized, the lease documents are prepared
5. After the office selection process is over, legal documents for business registration should be prepared
6. Submit the same to the free zone authority
7. The license will be issued within 2-4 weeks
8. Start the process of opening a bank account
Documents Required to Set Up a Business in JAFZA
1. Application form
2. Passports copy of each individual (shareholders and managers)
3. Bank reference for each individual
4. Copy of the business plan
5. Parent Company’s profile (in case of branch formation)
6. Application for registration a free zone company (in case of establishing an FZCO)
7. Application for registration a free zone establishment (in case of establishing an FZE)
8. A one-time non-refundable application fee of AED 500
